On a trip to south-west Ireland, Oddie searches for the Irish hare and then, using a book given to him as a birthday gift, visits locations allegedly inhabited by fairies. He also takes a boat trip out on the Atlantic to visit an abandoned monastery that is now home to thousands of seabirds.
