National athlete Michael Kang’s murder trial looks like an uphill battle for lawyers Jacob and Stephanie, until an eleventh-hour revelation sheds new light on the case. Jacob and Elaine clash over her defence strategy for elderly client, Liang – on trial for the murder of his wife, Rosie. Elaine wants to argue that Liang killed his wife in his sleep, but Jacob disapproves. Meanwhile, Derek is brought in for interrogation by Han and Razali.
