As a sign of respect to the Peshwa, Raghunath persuades Gangadhar to touch the gifts. Gangadhar agrees and almost opens the box in which Manu is hiding and later, goes hunting. At her 'kanyadaan' a tearful Indu embraces her family and wants to meet Manu last time before she leaves. No one is able to find Manu. Tatya Dixit also wants to meet Manu, and when he goes to the Peshwa, Prachi blurts out that Manu doesn't want to go to Jhansi. Manu distracts a servant and escapes from the box.
