An unexpected death the day before a royal christening seems to signal the approach of some great calamity. That calamity comes when Merlin is kidnapped while under Rowanne's protection. Very rapidly, Rowanne begins feeling isolated from everyone she trusts as accusations from the people of Northland are thrown at her. How she responds to the situation could end her future at Camelot as well as her relationships with Valiant and Arn.
