Season 1 Episode 5: Heavy Lifting
A territorial problem between Artie's crew and a Lazzaro sportsbook threatens to blow up Bones's back channel before it's produced anything useful. Johnny sends Danny B to mediate. Danny cools the room down and gets both sides to accept a, then finds out Tommy's fingerprints are all over the original conflict and has to clean up his brother's mess once again. Afterward the brothers talk. Tommy is Tommy, same excuses, same "You're my kin, Dan. My own blood." speech he's repeated over and over. Danny nods and lets him go. On the drive home he has to reckon with the fact that he won't be able to keep doing this. Meanwhile Bobby brings Gabe along to help move Richie's things from the family home in Carroll Gardens, which Richie is refusing to sell out of pure stubbornness. Richie spends the first hour making remarks that go slightly over Gabe's English. Gabe stays neutral, but can pick up Richie's tone. By the end of the afternoon Richie is showing him photographs and talking his ear off.
