Through this magical force, Little Sprout and his grandmother Mei-chen travel back in time to Asha’s childhood during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan. As they witness the struggles of the young Asha, Mei-chen begins to understand the painful past that shaped her mother’s life. But the past has not fully faded. A vengeful spirit from that turbulent era resurfaces, seeking revenge on the elderly Asha in the present.
